Karen stay sups very early in the morning on the 14th of February. She remembers it is Valentine’s Day and she felt down for a little while. She calls her friend, Patty; both girls are single and are not in love with someone else. Karen suggested to go to a restaurant for taking breakfast. Patty likes the idea and both girls go to a restaurant where they take their breakfast.

Oh says, Patty after some time; why don’t we make a trip to town for shopping? OK, says Karen and they leave for shopping. They look to all the shops with Valentine’s Day decorations, new clothes, jewelry, CD’s with romantic music, DVD’s of romantic movies and Valentine’s Day candies and they noticed the prices of many items are cheaper than in other periods of the year.

Karen asks: Do you think only lovers can buy these Valentine gifts? Patty is convinced that everyone can buy these presents and she answers: Of course not, Valentine’s Day is for everyone. Both girls like the idea to buy presents for each other and they feel both happy with their present.

It is time for dinner now. They notice there are many reservations and it is not easy to find the perfect restaurant for them. They find in almost every corner of the city restaurants offering delicious Valentine’s Dinners. It takes some time but Karen and Patty find a real good restaurant with a perfect Valentine’s Dinner for them. The price is maybe a little bit expensive but both girls say together: It is only one time in the year Valentine’s Day and they enjoy this delicious food. They have a real wonderful time together and time to think: what are we going to do now?

Karen and Patty walk through the streets and suddenly they find a cinema where they can watch romantic movies. All the movies to see this afternoon are romantic ones. There is plenty of choice and some popular ones are: The Titanic, the Notebook, Doctor Zhivago and When Harry met Sally. Karen and Sally like them all but they have the same preference. They want to see “The Titanic” with the main players Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. They didn’t watch this movie for a long time. This movie possesses all the necessary ingredients: action, romance, tragedy, passion and real wonderful music. Karen and Patty enjoyed this movie very much and the afternoon was passed before they realize.

When they come outside the cinema, it is already dark. Karen and Patty walk to a bookstore and they want to buy a romantic which they want to read during the evening. Both girls have a preference for books of “Danielle Steele” and they buy both a book of this writer. It is evening now and they can read this book when they come home.

Before they go back home they stop at a coffee bar. Also this bar is decorated with Valentine decorations and they enter the bar. Karen and Patty order a cup of coffee and a delicious dessert. Karen enjoys a piece of cake and Patty prefers apple pie. They talked for a while and said to each other: was this not a beautiful Valentine’s Day? Both girls understand now that a single girl can perfectly enjoy Valentine’s Day and they plan to enjoy Valentine’s Day every year.
