Put yourself on a bed time schedule. Many people have trouble sleeping simply by not having a routine. Decide on a time to go to sleep and stick with that time as much as possible.

Find methods of relaxation to help you prepare for sleep. Some people like to read a few chapters from a novel, while others like to pray or meditate close to bed time. Give your body a chance to switch gears and wind down before turning in for the night. This means avoiding caffeine and late night work outs.
