Inside The Future

The following is a poem I wrote for my 8th grade English class, a couple of years ago. I thought it was one of the better ones i had written at the time so I thought I might share it with you.

Inside these minds are ideas like no other

Their hearts with respect for one another

Their success and failures will determine

What the future will burden

For the future of this world lies in their hands

Their world might be a nightmare or a utopian dreamland

Their success lies in their knowledge

Books they should a cknowledge

They must study, and study well

For they shall not be saved by the bell

Inside these students lay effort and will

The standards of precedents they must fulfill

As the previous generations say farewll

We can only ask: What’s inside the future? Only time will tell

Share.
