The B vitamins are necessary for metabolism, skin, muscle, immune system, nervous system, and cell growth and division. B vitamins can be found in liver, turkey, tuna, potatoes, bananas, lentils, chile peppers, and beans. Vitamin B12 is not found in plan products. You may also obtain vitamin B by injections.

Vitamin B1 is given the name thiamine. If your body lacks this vitamin it will cause the disease Beriberi. This is very serious as it is a disease of the nervous system. Symptoms include weight loss, emotional distrbances, weakness, pain, irregular heartbeat, edema, heart failure, and death.

Vitamin B2 is given the name riboflavin. If your body lacks this vitamin it will cause the disease called ariboflavinosis. The symptoms of this disease is cracks in the lips, sensitivity to sunlight, swelling of the oral mucosa, hyperemia, and pharyngitis.

Vitamin B3 is given the name niacin. If your body lacks this vitamin it will cause the disease called pellagra. The symptoms of this disease include aggression, dermatitis, insomnia, weakness, mental confusion, diarrhea, and death.

Vitamin B5 is given the name pantothenic acid. If your body lacks this vitamin it will cause you to have acne.

Vitamin B6 is given the name pyridoxine. If your body lacks this vitamin it will cause the disease microcytic anemia. The symptoms include depression, high blood pressure, and water retention.

Vitamin B7 is given the name biotin. If your body lacks this vitamin it will not cause symptoms in an adult but it will lead to impaired growth and neurological disorders in infants and children.

Vitamin B9 is given the name folic acid. If your body lacks this vitamin it will cause the disease macrocytic anemia. If pregnant women lack this vitamin it will cause birth defects.

Vitamin B12 is given the name cobalamin. If your body lacks this vitamin it wil cause macrocytic anemia, memory loss, and other cognitive deficits. This is more common in elderly people. Also mania and psychosis can result.

Your body needs B vitamins. If your body lacks B vitamins it can lead to serious medical conditions. You can obtain your B vitamins through foods I have listed, by visiting your doctor for an injection, or taking supplements.
