I ask this question because, it is very important that we know the answer to it. I believe that once we answer this question it will be much clearer to us if we are sick to do everything in our power to heal ourselves, and if we are healthy to do everything in our power to stay that way. Is your health something that you think about on a daily basis? Are you willing to give up things that are not good for you and if not. Why? Do you think that it is worth the effort?
I think that everyone should put their health first, because without it we can’t do the things we love to do and enjoy. It is so important that we take care of it, and not put it on the back burner. Sometimes in life we get in a habit of doing things that are not good for us. It becomes a routine. Than, we don’t want to change or for some people they get angry, because they don’t want to be reminded of what can happen to them if they don’t change their ways.
Life is a gift, but how can we enjoy it or live up to our full potential if we do not feel good most of the time. This is a reality for a lot of people. For some people it is not by choice, but for a lot of people it is. They haven’t started to change their bad habits into good habits yet. I believe many people have forgotten what the definitions of health and healthy is. Maybe they never even knew the meaning themselves, because they were not healthy and they didn’t teach their children to be.
Yes, diet and exercise is important, but it goes beyond that. We want to be healthy mentally, emotionally, and spiritutally. Diet and exercise is just one small piece of the puzzle. There are so many other pieces that must be put together. That’s why even after some people lose weight they are happy for a little while, because food was their addiction now they have to find something else to fill that void in their lives. It was work to stay unhealthy and now it’s even more work to stay healthy.
So, I come back to the question I want you to ask yourself. What does your health mean to you? I want you to really really think about it. Is it so important that you are willing to put at least quit some of your unhealthy habits? What would you be able to do if you would at least just quit one unhealthy habit. How would that make you feel? Do you feel it is too hard or could you do it if you had support? Is your health something that you love and cherish, and are willing to do anything for?
If our health and well-being is not important to us. Than to who else is it going to be?
