Scrapbooking is a fun hobby that anyone can do. A scrapbook can be a great gift for someone or a nice way to preserve your memories of a family vacation or holiday.
-Making your first scrapbook does not have to cost a lot of money. First think of a theme for your first scrapbook. Look through loose pictures that you have hanging around and choose a theme.
-You will need to go to your local craft store or even Walmart has an arts & crafts section that sells scrapbooking supplies.
- To start off you will need an album for scrapbooking. The album should state on it that it has acid-free sheets. These keep your pages looking great for years to come. Since you have a theme in mind, you know approximately how many pictures you have so that will help you to choose the size album that you get.
- You need adhesive to attach your pictures to your pages. There are a variety of adhesives, from acid-free glue sticks to double-sided photo squares. Remember that what you do not use can be saved for your next scrapbook.
- Having a theme in mind you can purchase colored paper or stickers to make your pictures stand out more. Paper can be found cheaper in bulk and can be saved for children’s school projects or for future scrapbooks.
-If you go to your local craft store, the scrapbooking section can be overwhelming. Scrapbooking is a hobby that you can spend a little or a lot of money on. Since this is your first scrapbook, start small and use your creativity to make it unique.
-At home, sit at your kitchen table and organize your photos according to pages. Crop them to emphasize the subject in the photo. Use colored paper or stickers and arrange them on a page. Move things around until you are happy with how it looks and then use your adhesive to stick the pictures on.
-There is no wrong way to do this, use your imagination. Write captions about the picture if you choose and use props like ticket stubs or postcards.
Once you do your first scrapbook you will become hooked and want to make more. Your pictures will no longer be loose in drawers and you will have really nice albums to enjoy!
