You could just open a jar of pasta sauce but this sauce tastes fresher and is healthier. Serve this with a delicious caesar salad and some fresh italian bread. You can spread the Italian bread with softened butter that you season with some garlic powder to make a tasty addition to this meal. A quick easy dinner for a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner for two!

Here’s what you need:

1 large can crushed tomatoes in tomato puree

1 cloves garlic, crushed or chopped ( your option)

1 tablespoon olive oil ( I prefer extra virgin olive oil)

5 fresh basil leaves

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, leaves only chopped fine

1- Put up a large pot of water to boil for your pasta.

2- In a medium saucepan or deep fry pan with a lid, slowly saute the garlic in the olive oil. Allow this to slowly saute for at least 5 to 7 minutes. Do not allow the garlic to brown. If you notice it starting to brown, lower the flame.

3- Pour the crushed tomatoes into the pan and stir in the parsley. Rip 3 of the basil leaves into pieces and stir into the sauce. Cover the sauce and allow it to simmer for 25 minutes.

4- Meanwhile cook your pasta in boiling salted water until it is done to your liking. Drain and place in serving bowls.

5- Tear the remaining basil leaves into pieces and stir into your sauce. It is no ready to serve over your pasta.

Just add a green salad and fresh Italian bread and you have a quick and easy pasta dish for two!
