Make homemade peanut butter, vegetarian dog treats

For this recipe you will need the following ingredients:

2 cups flour
1/2 cup natural peanut butter
1 egg
2 tbsp unsulphured molasses
appr. 1/2 cup water

The first thing you will need to do is pour the flour into a bowl.

Next, you should add the peanut butter, the egg, and molasses. Now, stir the mixture very well.

Next,  very slowly add the water. You want to get to a consistancy that is somewhere between biscuit dough and pancake dough, but more like biscuit dough. Acheiving this may take more or less than the half cup of water, and that is why it is important to add the water slowly. You can always add water but you can’t take it out.

Now, you should grease a cookie sheet or casserole dish lightly with butter or oil. This will prevent the treats from sticking to the bottom of the pan.

Now it is time to place the dog treats  in a 350 degree oven for about 30 minutes. Be sure to check on them regularly. When the treats are firm to the touch they are ready to come out of the oven.

Once they are out of the oven, cut the treats with a pizza cutter while they are still warm, as they are more difficult to cut when they are completely cool.

Now they are ready to feed to your dog! These are great to use during training sessions.

Refrigerate leftover treats in a covered dish, such as tupperware. They keep well for about a week.
