Tech Review: Sony Ericsson Hazel

Sony Ericsson has recently announced its brand new mobile, ‘Hazel’ which is the latest inclusion to its ‘GreenHeart’ line of cell phones. The phone has a slider and utilizes a charger consuming low power, “Walk Mate” eco and “green calculator” applications, recycled plastic, an e-manual and very less packaging as part of the initiative of the company to reduce the CO2 emissions from its side.

-Sony Ericsson Hazel comes equipped with a 2.6 inches 16M color display of QVGA resolution including Accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate and Scratch-resistant surface.

-This gadget offers a user-friendly social networking experience featuring the Widget Manager application, which allows one to access their social networking sites through the standby screen and promptly move between different social networks like facebook, MySpace, Twitter and YouTube.

-It also features Noise Shield for clear voice, access to social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter and a built-in 5.0-megapixel auto-focus camera.

-The device includes a GPS receiver with Google Maps and a trial version of the Wisepilot turn-by-turn navigation application, it has 3.5G support plus WiFi, microSD expandable memory, a multimedia player and an FM radio. Users can listen to tunes stored on microSD cards or played with the phone’s FM radio.

-Sony Ericsson’s media player features, like PlayNow and MEGA BASS, are also included. Bluetooth lets users utilize wireless hands-free headsets and headphones, too.

-Moreover the GreenHeart is packed with a 5-megapixel camera with auto-focus, flash and geo-tagging and the result is superb. This handset gives consumers an enhanced voice quality experience, with Noise Shield, Clear Voice and Intelligent Volume Adaptation. Sony Ericsson Hazel is loaded with multimedia features such as support for SensMe, TrackID, and MegaBass.

-The mobile phone comes with easy access to Google Search and Google Maps plus AGPS is also built-in for use with turn-by-turn navigation.

-With reference to its technology, it offers both 2G network: GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 and 3G network: HSDPA 900 / 2100. Its browser supports WAP 2.0/xHTML, HTML (NetFront), RSS reader.

-It supports SMS (threaded view), MMS, Email, Push Email and IM types messaging. The Hazel phone is available in ‘Passionate Rouge’ and ‘Superior Black’ colors.

This device is environmentally friendly and is made by recycled plastics plus the user manual is stored in the cell phone’s memory instead printed on paper. The Hazel promises to provide features of intelligent volume adaptation and a voice experience of superior quality. The Hazel will be launched in the second half of 2010.
