ABC’s reality TV series “The Bachelor” Season 14 premieres Monday January 4, 2010. In this episode Jake Pavelka is seeking true love and hopefully a wife. The show starts off with 25 beautiful women, who desperately want to be the chosen lady. However this season comes with a scandal.
Similar to the twist in “The Bachelor” Season’s 13 when Bachelor Jason Mesnick, decided to pick Melissa Rycroft, then changed his mind for the runner up Molly Malaney. The shows host Chris Harrison validated that in “The Bachelor” Season 14 horrible decisions were made, when a producer is actually fired due to a “sexual affair” with one of the bachelorette’s.
This year’s bachelor Jake Pavelka is a 31 year old pilot from Denton Texas. Handsome and intelligent this pilot has something to prove. He’s determined to finish in love instead of last. Rejected from the Bachelorette Jillian Harris, this time the ball is in his court.
Last year’s bachelor Jason Mesnick was the shows first single dad. Living in Seattle Washington this 32 year old account executive desperately sought love. Jason along with Jake was passed by when The Bachelorette Deanna Pappas picked Jason, but rejected his hand in marriage.
Letters and emails swarmed in from women all over the world, wanting to mend his broken heart. This led ABC into picking him as “The Bachelor” for Season 13.
Strange things occurred as “The Bachelor’s” Season 13 neared the end. Rumors began to mount when fans seemed to think the show was scripted and rehearsed.
Deanna Pappas who previously rejected Jason’s hand in marriage, shows up. Deanna advises Jason if he has any doubts about the decision he was about to make, to simple rethink this all over.
In the end Jason chooses Melissa Rycroft who seemed to be a fan favorite. However weeks later on “After the Final Rose Show,” he breaks his engagement with Melissa and decides he made the wrong choice. Molly Malaney ended up with him and they both decided to take it a day at a time at the shows closing.
Comparing the two season’s some fans will think “The Bachelor” is all fact and some will think it’s a big fraud. Regardless of the matter, ratings are sure to be high when this season’s scandal is played out.
