2010 Military Theme Park Discounts/Free Admission

Though it is frigid throughout most of the country in January, now is still the perfect time to plan your theme park vacation to get the best rates.  For our military service members, two theme parks do offer theme park freebies or discounts specifically geared toward them.  Below are two of the best theme park freebies or discounts available to military families.

Disney’s 2010 Armed Forces Salute

Disney is offering a super deal for our nation’s military members this year.  Available via the Shades of Green resort, active or retired military members, as well as Coast Guard and active National Guard or Reservists can purchase a 4 day park pass for $99 per ticket.  This special pricing is available to the service member and up to 5 family members or friends through July 31, 2010.  Disney’s 2010 Armed Forces Salute special pricing on these tickets does not include park hopper or water parks, but for an additional fee an upgrade can be made to the ticket to add these options.  The tickets are not transferable and must be activated by September 26, 2010 and are also subject to black out dates.

Still, a 4 day park pass for under $100 is a super deal.  Unfortunately, the Disney Dining Plan is not available to guests who are staying at Shades of Green.  However, U.S. service members and other select groups can check Armed Forces Vacation Club for affordable accommodations in the Orlando, Florida area.  Pairing hugely discounted lodging with a cheap 4-day park pass can result in a very affordable vacation.

Anheuser-Busch’s Salute to Heroes

Though the economy has faltered in recent years, Anheuser-Busch continues to offer its yearly Salute to Heroes program, which is available to active duty, active or drilling reservists or National Guardsmen.  Anheuser-Busch’s Salute to Heroes offers free park admission to the military service member, as well as up to 3 dependents.  Even deployed military can enjoy this park perk as dependents can take advantage of this fantastic freebie.  One must register and present ID to obtain free park admission.

Eligible parks include SeaWorlds located in Orlando, Florida, San Diego, California or San Antonio, Texas, as well as Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, Virginia or Tampa Bay, Florida.  Also included are Sesame Place, Water Country USA and Adventure Island.  Military members wishing to take advantage of Anheuser-Busch’s Salute to Heroes should be sure to check park closures as some parks may have seasonal closings or hours.
