Watch new movie trailers for movies being released in January 2010. This list includes cast and plot summaries, release dates, and the early buzz.

JANUARY 8 NEW MOVIE RELEASES:

Daybreakers: This vampire movie is being called a rip off of I am Legend. A 2019 plague turns humans into vampires. Jay Laga’aia stars.

Youth in Revolt: A teen (Michael Cera) pursues his dream girl in an adaptation of the Nick Twist books. Cast includes Steve Buscemi.

Leap Year: Amy Adams stars as a woman who plans to propose to her boyfriend on Leap Day in keeping with an Irish tradition. Yes, the usual obstacles arise and another man gets involved.

Crazy on the Outside: Tim Allen directs and stars with Sigourney Weaver in a comedy about an ex-convict reuniting with his family.

Wonderful World: This dark comedy stars Matthew Broderick as a pot smoking cynic dealing with the illness of his Senegalese roommate and the arrival of his roommate’s sister.

JANUARY 15 NEW MOVIE RELEASES:

The Spy Next Door: A retired CIA spy (Jackie Chan) babysits kids and battles a Russian terrorist.

The Book of Eli: Denzel Washington and Gary Oldman star in another apocalypse story.

Hoodwinked Too!: Animated tale of Red Riding Hood (voice of Hayden Panettiere) and the Wolf teaming up to investigate the disappearance of Hansel and Gretel. Parents should note it’s rated PG for some mild rude humor, language and action.

JANUARY 22 NEW MOVIE RELEASES:

Legion: Kevin Durand stars in another apocalypse thing. God gets tired of humans, and early reviews sound like they’re already tired of this movie.

Tooth Fairy: Dwayne Johnson and Julie Andrews star. A hockey player gets sentenced to playing tooth fairy for a week. Parents should note it’s rated PG for mild language, some rude humor and sports action.

Extraordinary Measures: Brendan Fraser and Harrison Ford star in another tale of parents trying to find a cure for their child’s genetic disorder, but this time it’s 2 children.

JANUARY 29 NEW MOVIE RELEASES:

When in Rome: Kristen Bell stars as a New Yorker who gets wooed after swiping coins from a fountain of love.

Edge of Darkness: Robert DeNiro dropped out so now it stars Mel Gibson as another father whose activist daughter got killed by the military industrial complex.
