Capriccio is a Tapas Spanish and Italian fusion restaurant that used to be located in Westheimer years ago and they had an after hour club, but as of July 2008, it moved its location to a more upscale part of town, in the north part at 10865 Jones Road right near 1960, and it is now more of a family friendly restaurant.

The hours of operations are for lunch Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and dinner from Monday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

For their wines you should try the Spanish ones such as the Garnacha red wine for $5 a glass, or the Tinto Roble for $6.50 a glass, while for the whites go for the Rueda for $6 per glass all from Spain, and of course there is always the sangria which is made with red wine, brandy, orange and lime for$18 a pitcher to share with the table.

Their tapas are really delicious and you can savor them in a nice quiet restaurant, and you can order the spinach Catalan which comes with pine nuts and raisins for $5, or the roasted pear with Serrano ham and cheese for $7, or even the pork belly which is an apple smoked and marinated in a homemade molasses and spices for $8. But their salads are delicious as well like one of the customer’s favorite is the Catalan salad which has dried apricots, toasted walnuts and honey orange vinaigrette or the Capriccio salad which has toasted walnuts, cabrales cheese and green apple vinaigrette for $7.

While for their main entrées you should go for the tuna al mojo which is pan seared sushi grade tuna fillet marinated in mojo sauce or the Asturian cocido which has beef, chorizo, morcilla and potatoes stewed in a sherrywine broth for $19, or the Maryland blue crab ravioli with butter and sage for $22. If you want to experience more of Spain go with one of their paellas (which are not made for single servings) like the paella Valenciana  which has Shrimp, calamari, mussels, clams, chicken and chorizo in saffron rice for $31, or you can go with the vegetarian one which includes zucchini, squash, bell peppers, green beans and artichokes for $27.

And do not forget dessert, the usual customers go for the crema Catalana which is a light custard but the tiramisu is just as rich and delicious for $7. Capriccio is a good restaurant to go to if you want to have a nice quiet evening with family or friends and there us good parking as well.
