Charlie Strong To Become Louisville Cardinal’s New Head Football Coach

Charlie Strong, the Florida Gators defensive coordinator for the past seven years is set to become the new head football coach for the Louisville Cardinal’s.  Louisville Cardinal’s have not produced since the day Bobby Petrino left the school to pursue a professional head coaching position. Steve Kragthorpe came in with high expectations of keeping Louisville a top of the Big East Conference.

Louisville will get a great hire in Charlie Strong who coached the Florida Gators defensive for awhile. He bring the intensity needed to improve the defensive unit. Charlie Strong has great recruiting ties to the south and this will be critical in bringing in players that can anchor the Louisville Cardinal’s defensive unit to the top after three dismal season under Kragthorpe.

Florida Gators will be losing a great coach whose intensity is passed on to the players he coached. Charlie Strong will coordinate a coaching staff that will help Louisville improve in all phases of the game. Louisville never regained the tough defensive edge while Petrino was head coach. Charlie Strong will build a powerful defense just like he did at Florida.

Charlie Strong brings an impressive resume of being with the Florida Gators the past 7 years and prior to that he was at South Carolina for a year as well as Notre Dame. Strong played college football at Central Arkansas.

Urban Meyer will be losing a great coach as well as a recruiter in Charlie Strong. Florida will have to find a replacement that can keep the defense strong just as Charlie Strong has over the past 7 years.

Charlie Strong will come to Louisville with high expectations as well as a demand from the fans to win now. Welcome to the Big East–Charlie Strong.
