American’s love to delebrate the 4th of July and other American holidays and I’m no exception! Many gather together to eat scrumptions food made in red, white, and blue colors and later enjoy the spectacular fireworks displays. Are you tired of making the same ole cake with strawberries, blueberres, and Cool Whip and want to take something new and different to your next 4th of July picnic? Here is a recipe for a colorful and delicious Patriotic Jell-O Salad my Mom made for years on Independence Day and we all loved it. I’m sure you’ll love it too!
For the first layer, Make up 1 box (3 oz.) Strawberry Jell-O as directed in a glass m X 13 dish. When cooled, add a bunch of fresh sliced Strawberries. Let completely set in refrigerator.
For the second layer, make up 1 (3 oz.) box of Lemon Jell-O with ONE C of very hot water. Dissolve Jell-O. Add 8 oz. softened Cream Cheese and stir till dissolved and creamy. Gradually add 1 C of cold Half N Half or 1 can of cold Evaporated Milk (NOT sweetened condensed milk). Stir well. Add sliced Bananas and Mini Marshmellows to this and pour on top of the first layer. Put back in the refrigerator to completely set.
For the third layer, make up 1 (3 oz.) box of Raspberry Jell-O with ONE C of very hot water. Dissolve Jell-O. Let cool. Add 1 can of chilled Blueberries with juice. Stir well. Pour on top of the the second layer. Put back in the refrigerator to completely set. Slice and eat! Yum! Happy Birthday U.S.A.!!
