Things You’ll Need:

  • Cardboard
  • Scissors
  • Aluminum foil
  • Hole punch
  • Rubber band
  • Colored glue (I use Foamies acrylic paint)

Place newspaper down on your table so that when decorating with the glue paints it doesn’t get on your surface. Some of the colored glues out there stain. Cut your cardboard into little ornament shapes. You can make them into any shape that you want. Get creative with it!

Take a piece of aluminum foil, and cover over your cardboard stencil. Making sure you cover the front and the back. Cut off any excess foil hanging over the edges. This will be a nice shiny background of your ornament. The tree lights will reflect off of the foil.

Once your ornament is covered with aluminum foil, use the hole punch the punch a hole in the top of the ornament. Take your rubber band and thread it through the hole. Once through the hole, take one end of the band and thread it through the other. So now when holding the top of the band it makes a loop that is securely attached through the hole.

Now that you have the basic part of your ornament completed you can decorate! Make any designs that you wish. Make zig zags, polka dots, faces, pictures. Anything it’s your ornament. Use your imagination!
