Chakra Colors 101

Chakras are energy points within the physical body that send and receive vibrational messages that affect our daily lives in different ways. There are seven chakras, each associated with a different part of the body. Each chakra is associated with a different color and aspect of the human experience.

The chakra colors are fairly easy to remember as they somewhat coincide with the colors of the rainbow. There is alot of information available regarding each chakra and it’s meaning, use, and representation. Below is a simple guide to get you started.

RED represents the first chakra called the Base or Root Chakra.  The Base Chakra represents grounding and is located at the base of the spine.

ORANGE represents the second chakra called the Sacral or Navel Chakra.  The Sacral Chakra represents creativity and is located just below the navel.

YELLOW represents the third chakra called the Solar Plexus Chakra.  This chakra represents emotions and is located just above the navel.

GREEN represnets the fourth chakra called the Heart Chakra.  The Heart chakra represents love and is located in the heart.

BLUE represents the fifth chakra called the Throat Chakra.  The Throat Chakra represents communication and is located inside the throat.

INDIGO represents the sixth chakra called the Brow Chakra, or sometimes referred to as the third eye. The Brow Chakra represents spiritual wisdeom and is located in the brain (sometimes pictured in the forehead area).

VIOLET or WHITE represents the seventh chakra called the Crown Chakra.  The Crown Chakra represents peace, wisdom, oneness with Infinite, God, and/or spiritual balance and completeness  and is located at the crown, or just above the top of the head.
