Tip One: Don’t forget that it is okay to be sad. Remember that you don’t have try to hide or suppress your pain too much. If you do, it’ll only come back harder later on. Allow yourself half an hour once or twice a day to just be sad and cry. If you let it all out, you’ll be closer to moving past the pain.
Tip Two: Stay busy and focused. When you’re at work, try not to think about your ex. Dedicate your time at work entirely to your work. Don’t start slacking off at work. Work harder. Your success will be a source of pride and happiness (and maybe even a bonus). By the end of the day, you’ll be so exhausted that you might not even have the energy to think about your ex.
Tip Three: Spend more time with family and friends. Reconnect with old friends and go out more. Strengthen your relationships with your friends and Let them know how much you appreciate their support and company during this hard time.
Tip Four: Do something you’ve always wanted to do but never got around to doing. This could be anything from painting your room or skydiving. Doing something new will give you a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment. It will encourage you to try new things.
Tip Five: Find a new hobby. Whether it’s establishing a daily workout plan or reading more books, finding a new hobby can help fill the time that was once filled with your ex. This will lead to self improvenment.
