Things You’ll Need:
- Favorite Pizza Dough Recipe
- Pizza Sauce
- Mozzarella Cheese
- Your Favorite Toppings
- Aluminum Foil
- High Heat-Pam Cooking Spray
Our first step is the dough, I like to double my favorite recipe. No need to get fancy, throw it together and let it rise. I like to add herbs after I’ve rolled it out, making sure everyone gets a taste.
For the sauce I cook 48oz of crushed tomatoes until thickened. This will take approximately 10-20 minutes. Add garlic and olive oil, and more of your herbs. Use fresh if you have them on hand.
Next I remove the rack from my oven and cover it in two layers of aluminum foil. Smooth the surface of the foil and spray with Pam High Heat. Now you are ready for the dough.
When the dough has risen, I like to kneed it for an additional 10 minutes and rest it for five more. At this point you should be able to stretch it to your liking. Hold the dough ball near the middle and let the weight of it cause it to stretch. Rotate and repeat process. If you’re feeling brave, try the hand toss method.
When I place the dough on the foil, I make sure to keep the edges at least one inch away from oven walls. The pizza will cook evenly as long as you didn’t get carried away with sauce, cheese or meat toppings. Another thing I learned from trial and error is to keep your crust at an even thickness, this makes for even cooking.
