Hubbell and Hudson is a bistro and market (at 24 Waterway Avenue)all in one and you will see diverse types of people from the urbanites to The WoodlandsÂ locals who come to experience the buying of fresh produce at the market, eat at the bistro and take cooking classes for both beginners and advanced cooks. The market and bistro came to be out of the concept of bringing a world class culinary experience to The Woodlands and the founders had a vision of having a market, bistro and catering all under one roof and the vision became reality.
The cooking school called the Viking offer to learn with professional tools such as appliances, cookware and cutlery and there are a variety of different classes such as ethnic cuisines, vegetarian, baking or even just the basics. The school is open Monday through Thursday from 7:00 A.M to 9:00 P.M, Friday and Saturday from 7:00 A.M to 10:00 P.M and Sunday from 7:00 A.M to 9:00 P.M.
The bistro is opened for lunch, dinner and brunch on Sundays and the hours of operations are Monday through Thursday from 11:00 A.M to 10:00 P.M, Friday and Saturday from 11:00 A.M to 11:00 P.M and Sunday the brunch is served from 9:00 A.M to 3:00 P.M and dinner from 4:00 P.M to 9:00 P.M.
The bistro has a nice elegant, sophisticated and upscale vibe to it and the dÃ©cor seems to match perfectly, and it is nice place to take the whole family to, and their menu changes frequently during different seasons. For their appetizers you can order the burrata con panna and straciatella which is melted mozzarella and stracciatella with tomatoes, greens and basil or the b&w risotto which has shaved black truffles, shallots and garlic or even the crisp Buffalo Texas quail.
While some of their delicious main entrÃ©es that you can order are the poached Atlantic salmon, or the diver scallops, or the crab cakes but if you are not a seafood lover then try their free range chicken or the Berkshire pork. And do not forget to order some of their dessert and they actually have a good selection such as the orange blossom cheesecake, or the crÃ¨me brulee Catalan, or the Texas pecan square or even the clafoutis which is a crustless blueberry tart, strawberry gazpacho and crÃ¨me fraiche and you can accompany your desserts with a cup of espresso.
