Location: Universal Studios’ Islands of Adventure
Theme: Greece/Mythology
Ride Vehicle: Walk through
Duration: Approximately 20 to 30 minutes

Poseidon’s Fury is located within the Islands of Adventure park area at Universal Studios Orlando and is part of The Lost Continent neighborhood of theme park rides, right alongside Dueling Dragons, Flying Unicorn, Mystic Fountain, and The Eighth Voyage of Sindbad. Poseidon’s Fury is an indoor walk through ride integrated with a special effects-ridden show and mythological Greece themes.

You and about thirty other guests are gathered indoors at an archaeological dig site where a nerdy archaeologist named Taylor guides you to the lost city of Atlantis. Long story short, once he leads you and everyone else to the lost city, you’re all captured by an evil God named Darkanon. But that’s okay because Poseidon, a God who is allying with us, comes to the rescue with Taylor’s aid and engages in a spectacular special effects-laden battle that makes excellent use of water projection screens, fire pyrotechnics, water effects, and some interesting high-speed set-altercating technology.

The overall attraction is somewhat of a letdown due to its seemingly extensive running time which actually feels longer than it really is and the fact that this is a walk through attraction doesn’t help any because it simply means you have to stand on your feet at all times for about twenty to thirty minutes; yes, you get to walk around of course, but that’s only when the guide leads you into the next room and you will be spending a lot of time standing in each…
