The highly anticipated 12-round showdown for the welterweight fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Juan Manuel Marquez has been officially rescheduled for September 19, 2009 , after Mayweather who suffered a rib injury while training for the originally scheduled fight on July 18 and he has received clearance from his doctor to participate in the fight.

Ticket sales has been reported to be slow for the Pay-Per-View event but is expected to pick up because of the new date.
