Since it is my desire to associate with people of a like mind, I would like to showcase special people who made the decision to overcome whatever hurdle that was preventing them from being all that God made them to be. So this week I am going to go big and put the spotlight on Whitney Houston.
Yeah Sister Whitney, we all know the story. Beautiful woman, talented singer, plenty of money, wealth, fame and the world at her feet. Then it seemed like all of a sudden it was gone. Actually in the Spirit there is no such thing as all of a sudden, because there were small and insignificant events over a period of time that led to her demise.
I am not going to focus on the bad part because that is not the point of this post. I want you all to join me in celebrating the fact that she overcame and see her as an example that no matter what you have gone though or even put yourself through, that at any point in your journey on this earth, you can live a meaningful life.
Whitney is better than ever! I truly believe that she went though all of the hell that she went through so she could be a testimony to God’s grace and mercy. The cards were stacked against her, and the world pretty much wrote her off as a crazy, no talent, drugged out thing of the past. The fact of the matter is that in the world’s eyes she had lived her best life in the 80’s and 90’s and she should just roll over and die.
Well God had another plan. Just like Job and all of the afflictions, embarrassment and loss that he had to endure, Whitney found herself in the same boat. But alas, appearances can be deceiving! Believe half of what you see, and none of what you hear. The half that we don’t know is Whitney’s heart and her desire to overcome herself and the wretched life she had found herself in. So now we have a blue print to follow of someone who was in the public’s eyes and under constant media scrutiny making the comeback of all time. Are you setting yourself up for your comeback? Now that is in interesting moniker…Overcome for a comeback
