Danbro, the specialist accountancy firm for contract and freelance workers, is celebrating after being shortlisted in two categories for this year’s prestigious Accountancy Age Awards.
The company is in the running for the ‘Best Small Firm’ and ‘Best use of Internet: Practice’ titles for the second year running at the ceremony organised by the magazine of the same name.
Now in their 14th year, the awards are recognised as one of the main indicators of good practice in the UK accountancy industry.
The winners will be announced at a spectacular gala dinner, which is due to take place at London’s Battersea Park arena on 18 November.
Danbro managing partner Damian Broughton said: “To be shortlisted in two categories is a fantastic achievement, and it has only been possible thanks to the dedication of our team, who have all put in a great deal of effort to help the firm continue to grow and prosper, even in the current difficult economic times.
“The small firm award is always keenly-contested, so it’s great that we’ve been selected in that category again, while we’ve always championed the internet with pioneering services like our regular podcasts, our online timesheet system and the secure document exchange, so I’m also happy to see that recognised.”
The nominations cap another successful year for Danbro which has continued its expansion throughout the economic downturn, taking on 11 new staff so far this year, and opening an office in Manchester to complement its existing bases in London and Blackpool.
It also acquired rival firm Safe Business Solutions (SBS), bringing its client base to around 2,700 active contractors and just over 1,000 limited companies. Danbro also received the ISO:9001 accreditation for its management systems and an Investors in People award in recognition of the training and development of its staff.
