This could be a different season for the fans down in Athens as the Bulldogs are expected to have a slight dropoff in talent. Today we take a look at the upcoming 2009 Georgia football schedule and breakdown the cupcakes and tough games on the schedule. Perhaps some of these games won’t be as easy as they were with Matthew Stafford and Knoshown Moreno in the backfield. Enough small talk let’s take a look at the 2009 Georgia football schedule.

September 5th at Oklahoma State

September 12th South Carolina

September 19th at Arkansas

September 26th Arizona State

October 3rd LSU

October 10th Tennessee

October 17th at Vanderbilt

October 31st Florida

November 7th Tennessee Tech

November 14th Auburn

November 21st Kentucky

November 28th at Georgia Tech

In my opinion when you consider the key losses of Stafford and Moreno like mentioned above this is a very tough 2009 Georgia football schedule. The argument can be made that they don’t have an easy game until Tennessee Tech which is 9 games into the season. That matchup would also likely be the only one that I would guarantee a win for the rebuilding Bulldogs.

The 2009 Georgia football schedule can be a good one or bad one for the Bulldogs and it’s gonna depend on the arm of Joe Cox. If he can step up and rise to the occasion then perhaps 9 or maybe even 10 wins is a possibility for the program. But if he is only a stopgap quarterback for the school then I would imagine that 7 or 8 wins is likely to be the outcome. Bulldogs fans are likely to be upset but they will return to glory real soon.
