Over the last several years Bobby Johnson has slowly turned what has long been considered a cellar dweller in the SEC into a team to be respected on the field. Here today we discuss the 2009 Vanderbilt football schedule and see what could be in the cards down the road for Vandy. Enough of the talk let’s get to the 2009 Vanderbilt football schedule listed below.

September 5th Western Carolina

September 12th at LSU

September 19th Miss State

September 26th at Rice

October 3rd Ole Miss

October 10th at Army

October 17th Georgia

October 24th at South Carolina

October 31st Georgia Tech

November 7th at Florida

November 14th Kentucky

November 21st at Tennessee

As you can tell by looking at the 2009 Vanderbilt football schedule above there is no shortage of tough games. It could be worse as they could be playing Alabama instead of Miss State or have another tough non-conference game instead of Western Carolina, Rice or Army.

In my opinion from looking at the 2009 Vanderbilt football schedule above it looks like a 5 or 6 win season for Vanderbilt if everything goes right on the field. They will most likely beat Western Carolina, Rice and Army for three wins. Then I consider the games against Miss State, South Carolina and Kentucky all possible wins so it depends on what happens in those matchups. The rest of the games on the schedule are gonna next to impossible with the exception of possible upsets against Georgia or Georgia Tech. I wouldn’t count on it though but this Vandy football program is different than in the past and Bobby Johnson will have them poised to knock off one of those bigger schools.
