Mmmmm, spaghetti! Who doesn’t love spaghetti? Entire chains of restaurants revolve around spaghetti. Decorative kitchenware centers on spaghetti. Our favorite Disney cartoon characters even suck spaghetti noodles lovingly from the same plate! Is there any kitchen cupboard in America that does NOT have spaghetti noodles in it right now? Probably not many. There are an infinite number of ways to make spaghetti sauce, both traditional and non-traditional. Here is an easy yummy double meat sauce that takes very little time to whip together! Here’s what you’ll need:
Two (1 lb 10 oz) jars of Ragu, any flavor
One pound of ground turkey
One pound of Italian sausage, hot or mild your choice
One green pepper
One container of fresh mushrooms
Fresh garlic to taste
In a large pot, cover the bottom with olive oil. Cut the Italian sausage in pieces that resemble meatballs but are reasonably bite sized and put them in the oil. Start cooking this on medium heat while you chop the other ingredients.
Chop the pepper, garlic, onion and slice the mushrooms. Add these to the sausage. Stirring meat mixture occasionally, simmer for 8 minutes. Add the ground turkey and brown.
When the meat is cooked through, drain. In the same pot, empty contents of Ragu jars. Add meat mixture back into the pot with the Ragu. Turn on low or simmer and cover.
Serve hot with your spaghetti as a topping or mix into your spaghetti noodles.
