Oh well, this is for those who wants to try watching Shoujo anime for the first time or maybe their second.. Enough chit chat, I assure you that this is definitely worth your time if you love watching hot anime men with a good romantic comedy. Well this is a recommendation I hope you’ll like it and leave a comment or maybe some recommendation for me too. So here goes….Drum rolls

1. Skip Beat (2009)

The story revolves around a young girl named Kyouko who went with her childhood friend, Shou, to Tokyo to pursue his dream of becoming an idol. Despite of supporting him, she overhears him dismissing her as boring wallflower. Furious, Kyouko vows to get her revenge to defeat him by entering the entertainment world.

My review:

At first I thought the anime wouldn’t be the same as the manga, I was wrong. The anime follows exactly like the manga storyline which is great because many important scenes are portray perfectly. You can see how hilariously Kyouko’s demon appears and how she executes her revenge. The story has strong plot which i like and the protagonist, kyouko is a strong, smart ,sweet and kind at the same time.

2. Special A (2008)

Hikari Hanazono has always been second to Kei Takishima. When they were six years old, their pro-wrestling loving fathers introduced them to each other. Assuming that she was the best in wrestling, young Hikari challenged Kei to a wrestling match only to be thoroughly defeated by him. Ever since that fateful incident, Hikari swore to beat Kei in school grades, sporting events – anything. To do this, she has enrolled in the same school as Kei since elementary. Now she attends Hakusenkan, an ultra elite school, that costs her carpenter father a lot of money. Hikari and Kei are the top two students in the school, with Kei holding firmly to that number one position. While Hikari considers Kei to be a rival and important friend, she is completely unaware that Kei loves her. The story primarily focuses on Hikari and her constant attempts to defeat her one and only rival, Kei, and how she finds love in their rivalry.

My review:

The story progress kinda slow at first, Hikari is so dense which makes me so angry with her character. I mean can anyone be that blind and not see that guy is head over heals for her. Thank god Kei is a cool guy!. After few episodes, I gave up on Kei and Hikari and move along to other character love story which is more interesting and sweet.

3. Romeo x Juliet (2007)

In the floating continent of Neo Verona, the Montague family seized control and murdered every member of the Capulet family with the exception of Capulet’s daughter, Juliet Fiammata Asto Capulet. 14 years later, Juliet and the remnants of Capulet’s retainers live hidden from the iron fist of the Montague family. Juliet has long forgotten the murder of her family or her identity, and cross dresses as Odin and the town’s hero of justice, “Red Whirlwind”. A sudden escape in her daily escapades leads her to meet Romeo Candorebanto Montague, the kind son of the tyrannical Montague. Destiny has been set as these two individuals soon to be “star-crossed lovers” are cruelly toyed with by fate in the midst of war. Loosely based on the play by William Shakespeare.

My review:

Wow, I love this story whether it’s the original by Shakespeare or animated. Basically the storyline is the same where feud between two families. Uuu I just can’t explain it but it is refreshing and original how they turn this story.

4. Lovely Complex (2007)

Risa and Otani are always being laughed at as the comedy duo. Risa, a girl, is taller than the average girl, and Otani, a boy, is shorter than the average boy. The two are always bickering and even their teacher sees them as a comedy act. But as their friendship develops, so do Risa’s feelings toward Otani. (Source:

My review:

Soooo cute, this time the male character is so dense, poor Risa being rejected just because she’s too tall. Otani and Risa has a lot in common, but seeing both of falling in love is just classic.

5. Hanasakeru Shishounen (2009)

A very powerful industrialist directs his daughter to pick a husband from three candidates he has chosen for her. They are to come into her life, and their uniqueness would cause her to recognize them immediately. All three of the candidates are outstanding. Well, it’s actually four…
The story evolves along the lines of a power political mystery involving a small middle eastern country. (Source: Mangaupdates)

My review:

My god have you seen so many handsome guy in one anime hehehe well i have.

6. Nodame Cantabile (2007) / Sequel: Nodame Cantabile Paris Chapter (2008)

Shinichi Chiaki is a first class musician whose dream is to play among the elites in Europe. Coming from a distinguished family, he is an infamous perfectionist; not only is he highly critical of himself, but of others as well. The only thing stopping Chiaki from leaving for Europe is his fear of flying. As a result, he’s grounded in Japan.

During his 4th year at Japan’s top music university, Chiaki happens to meet Noda Megumi; or as she refers to herself, Nodame. On the surface, she seems to be an unkempt girl with no direction in life. However, when Chiaki hears Nodame play the piano for the first time, he is in awe at the kind of music she plays. To Chiaki’s dismay, Nodame moves into the apartment next to his and finds out that she is head over heels in love with him.

Nodame Cantabile tells the story of Chiaki and Nodame, as they not only learn to deal with each other, but learn lessons from one another as they strive for the top of the musical world.

My review:

Lol, original I love it, it’s so hilarious. I even watched the live action!! Gah go and watch it now!

7. Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge (2006)

Takano Kyohei, Oda Takenaga, Toyama, Yukinojo, and Morii Ranmaru are going to rent a house to go to school for free on the condition that they make the girl of the house a “lady”. However, Nakahara Sunako, the girl living there, is gloomy, weird, and horror movie maniac. She has a trauma of when she was told ugly by the boy whom she loved when she was in junior high school. She doesn’t like beautiful things and gets a nosebleed when she looks at something beautiful.

My review:

I never have seen a girl nosebleed so much just by looking at beautiful things (ehem) especially hot men. If you going to watch this anime make sure you have a tissue with you, you might have a nose bleed as well. Lol no…

8. Valkyria Chronicles (2009)

Valkyria Chronicles is set in a fictitious continent reminiscent of 1930s Europe. The continent, called Europa, is divided into two main powers: The Imperial Empire, a monarchy in the east, and the alliance of democracies called the Federation in the west. In this world, there is a very important resource called ragnite; its uses range from fueling weapons of war to use in medical treatments. Since ragnite is such an important resource, the Federation and the Empire are constantly at war with each other for it.

The story takes place in the neutral country of Gallia, known for its bountiful reserves of ragnite, when the Empire decides to invade and seize the ragnite for themselves. The story follows Welkin, the son of a former war hero; Isara, Welkin’s Darcsen adoptive sister; and Alicia, a member of the Bruhl town watch, as they fight the Imperials in the ragtag Gallian militia group, Squad 7.

Squad 7 fights to regain their homes and livelihoods with Welkin as the squad leader and commander of the Edelweiss tank; Alicia as a scout; Isara as the pilot of the Edelweiss, and a variety of colorful individuals. (Can’t remember where i took this)

My review:

It’s actually not a romantic comedy, but kinda sad and there a love triangle in it as well.

9. Natsume Yuu-jinchou (2008) / Sequel: Zoku Natsume Yuujinchou (2009) ~

Natsume Takashi has the ability to see spirits, which he has long kept secret. However, once he inherits a strange book that belonged to his deceased grandmother, Reiko, he discovers the reason why spirits surround him. At his coming-of-age ceremony, however, everything changes. For no reason that he can discern, he’s cast into the prison known as the “Abyss”, only to be saved by a “chain” known as Alice, the bloodstained black rabbit. Why was he cast into Abyss, how does Alice factor into it all, and what does the organization known as “Pandora” want with him…?

My review:
