Whether or not you are a fan of the Big 10 the legendary Joe Paterno deserves the respect of college athletes and fans across the country in my opinion. Today we discuss the 2009 Penn State football schedule and if Joe Paterno can lead them once more to a national championship and if nothing else another Big 10 title. So without getting too far into the conversation here is the 2009 Penn State football schedule for the upcoming season.

September 5th Akron

September 12th Syracuse

September 19th Temple

September 26th Iowa

October 3rd at Illinois

October 10th Eastern Illinois

October 17th Minnesota

October 24th at Michigan

October 31st at Northwestern

November 7th Ohio State

November 14th Indiana

November 21st at Michigan State

At first glance this 2009 Penn State football schedule looks to be a fairly easy one especially in comparison to teams like Michigan. The non-conference games against Akron, Syracuse, Temple and Eastern Illinois all should be pretty much automatic wins. Then the Big 10 games have potential to be difficult but I think this team can handle all of them pretty well.

I don’t think that it would be asking too much to expect this team to win 11 or 12 games and possibly even go for a BCS title at the end of the season under the right circumstances. That showdown against Ohio State will end up being a huge game especially if either team is undefeated rolling into that matchup. If you look reasonably at the 2009 Penn State football schedule then they could very well be undefeated when they go up against the Buckeyes.
