In 2008 the boys from Gainesville were just one point away from having a perfect season. That is the driving factor that will motivate them this upcoming season. The 2009 Florida Gators football schedule is actually pretty favorable as far as SEC matchups are concerned although there is no such thing as cupcake schedules in the SEC. Before we get into more detailed discussion here is the 2009 Florida Gators football schedule.
September 5th Charleston Southern
September 12th Troy
September 19th Tennessee
September 26th at Kentucky
October 10th at LSU
October 17th Arkansas
October 24th at Miss State
October 31st Georgia
November 7th Vanderbilt
November 14th at South Carolina
November 21st Florida International
November 28th Florida State
As you can see above there are some pretty good SEC teams left out of the mix. The lone team to beat the defending champions last year was the Ole Miss Rebels and they wouldn’t have to play them unless that matchup happens in the conference championship. There are at least 6 games on the 2009 Gators football schedule above that would be seemingly impossible for this team to lose even on their worst day.
The more I look at the 2009 Gators football schedule the more it makes me wonder how this team won’t roll into the conference championship game undefeated? I mean honestly LSU is the only game on the schedule that I think there is even a decent chance of them losing. The games against Troy, Charleston Southern and Florida International are easy matchups. The SEC teams like Kentucky, Vanderbilt and South Carolina have a horrible record against the boys in blue. Then you have Tennessee and Georgia that are both pretty much in rebuilding mode this season. The 2009 Florida Gators football schedule has them on track for a perfect season.
