Sweet Basil restaurant and bar is located at in North Dallas at 17610 Midway Road at Trinity and the hours of operations are from Monday through Friday for lunch from 11:00 A.M to 2:30 P:M, and for dinner Monday through Thursday from 5:00 P.M to 10:00 P.M., Friday from 5:00 P.M to 10:30 P.M, and Saturday they are open from 11:00 A:M to 10:30 and Sunday they are open from 5:00 P.M to 9:00 P.M The restaurant is elegant looking with its white linen tablecloths and faux Milo’s Venus statues and other arts, but also very lively with the flowers decorating the place, and the food is actually pretty good.
The prices of the restaurant are actually on the average side and it is a nice place to go on a date. For their appetizers you can order the fried calamari, the clams Vesuvio which are steamed clams, garlic, white wine and parsley or the fresh mussels which are with tomato sauce, parsley, oregano and white wine for $8.99. Or you can have the scampi Provencal which are three grilled shrimp with basil and garlic butter for $6.95 or even Portobello mushrooms which are grilled with olive oil, garlic and white wine for $7.50. While if you prefer a salad for either an appetizer or an entrée, go with the Sophia Loren salad which includes romaine lettuce, hearts of palm, avocado, eggs and pecan with a honey mustard dressing for $8.99.
For their pasta dishes you can order the meat lasagna, or their spaghetti alla Carbonara which is with an egg and bacon, or tortellini with either a meat or blue cheese sauce for $12.50, or if you prefer a seafood pasta then go for the linguine pescatore which are with clams, mussels, shrimp, and squid for $16.99 or if you prefer just seafood then go with the salmon del chef, which is grilled salmon with capers and a lemon butter sauce for $15.99 or the lemon sole Fiorentina which is sole filet with spinach and a chardonnay sauce for $15.99
