Heaven is not about entrapment it is about freedom and it will probably feel for the first time in your life that you are free. In heaven we will be truly free. Free from pain, suffering, sadness and fear. A friend of mine who lost his legs used to say they were waiting for him in heaven. He has died now, but I expect he has been reunited with his legs. In heaven any disability we had on earth will be gone. Those who couldn’t walk will now be able to, those who were blind will be able to see and those who were deaf will be able to hear. Now isn’t that something to get excited about?
God is bigger, bolder and brighter than we can ever imagine. A boring kind of heaven just doesn’t match the kind of God that we serve.
This life has very little to offer and every year it gets worse. We hear on the news about some terrible tragedy and we think to ourselves what kind of a world are we living in? Children being abused, people being murdered, drug addiction and more. What can this world offer us and yet we are trapped here in our current bodies. Each year we see crimes rise, we face financial difficulties and it gets worse.
We are living in the last days. These are the times just before the great tribulation. Jesus is stood at the door with his coat on ready to come back to claim His bride, the Church.
Satan’s attacks on the people and the Church are getting worse. As individuals we have to face much persecution. Sometimes life can seem unbearable, but imagine how much worse it would be if we didn’t have the promise of an escape at the end of it. We have the promise of a future without persecution, pain or suffering.
