Sushi King is located near the Village at 3401 Kirby drive and the hours of operations are from Sunday through Thursday from 11:30 A.M to 11:00 P.M and Friday and Saturday from 11:30 A.M to midnight. The restaurant is located in a shopping center that has plenty of parking even though during lunch times it may get a little crowded. The name of the restaurant was decided by the owner as an easy name to pronounce as well as to let people know that Sushi King is the King of Sushi in town. The restaurant inside has a pretty modern take on it and is very simple but elegant.
For starters you can order some appetizers like the stuffed shitake which is shitake mushroom stuffed with shrimp, squid and onion and lightly fried for $9.00, the Hannah Age which is diced tiger shrimp, shitake mushroom, sweet onion and papaya wrapped in rice paper fried and served with a spicy teriyaki sauce for $8.00 or even the Asian tartar trio which consists of tuna avocado, salmon mint and basil escolar served over crispy wonton squares for $10.50.
Then they have a wide variety of house specialty rolls such as the fantasy which is a Cajun crawfish, avocado, crunchy inside, top with spicy tuna, crab, wasabi, tobiko and avocado sauce for $15.00, or the Cowboy which is either spicy tuna or salmon (you choose), crunchy avocado inside, topped with blackened beef for $14.00, or the hot mama which is fried crab meat inside topped with escolar, jalapeno and a ponzu sauce for $12.00 to name a few. Another choice could be the wild essence which is shrimp tempura inside topped with black pepper tuna and an avocado honey mayonnaise on top for $14.00.
Or you can go with a traditional entrée which are served with a soup and salad on the side. There is the seafood tempura which is shrimp, scallops, calamari fried in tempura style for $22.00, or just the shrimp tempura for $18.00. You can also go for the Hamachi Kama which is grilled yellow tail served with braised daikon sauce for $24.00 or the Gin Tala which is Miso marinated black cod for $24.00.
