In a little street close to the Montrose area you will find a quiet, small and characteristic restaurant called Au Petit Paris (at the little Paris). The ambience of the place reminds you of being in a petite café at the Champs Elysees, and in fact the restaurant is owned and operated by two French chefs. The restaurant opened in 2007, and is located at 2048 Colquitt Street and opens only for dinner Monday through Thursday from 5:30 P.M until 9:30 P.M and Friday and Saturday from 5:30 until 10:30 P.M and they are closed Sundays.

This is a great date restaurant, be it the first or the fiftieth, but also a nice restaurant to catch up with an old friend and enjoy the wonderful food and wine.

Their menu has a vast choice of wonderful appetizers such as the soupe de tomates au basilic, which is Tomato Basil Soup, or the famous French gratinee a l’oignon, which is French Onion Soup for $6.95, or if you prefer a salad go with the salade des Champs Elysees “au Petit Paris”, which is a salad mixed with Poached Egg, San Daniels Smoked Ham, parmesan cheese and glazed Sweet Cherry Tomatoes for $12.00. But there is also the French Brie cheese served with mesclun salad crystallized walnuts and red seedless grapes for $7.00 or for the brave ones zesty frogs’ legs sautéed en persillade sauce with a zest of lemon juice for $11.00.

For their entrée’s they have a meat (which also includes poultry) or fish section, one meat that you can order is the farm raised duck leg confit with sarlardaise potatoes, tomato coulis and mesclun salad for $25.00, or a delicious chicken fricassée flambee with fine champagne served with carnaroli fresh forest mushroom risotto for $23.00. While on the fish side you can order the Au Petit Paris signature dish which is sautéed sea scallops, smoky crisp bacon, and delicate curry cauliflower puree with green asparagus or even the sautéed skinless red snapper filet served with fresh garden vegetables fruit salad, and filo dough filled with creamed leeks and granny Smith apple sauce for $27.00.
