The prognosis for peoples with mesothelioma is not very good. This disease is difficult to treat and has among the lowest five year survivability rates among others cancers. Research is ongoing and doctors know an actual cure is still many years away.  However, in many mesothelioma patients and there are peoples who have lived full lives after their diagnoses with Mesothelioma.

Mesothelioma is not generally diagnosed until the disease is its latest stages of development because of the time it takes for mesothelioma patients to display the symptoms joint with the disease. Also, the symptoms of mesothelioma are very common, and often look like less serious conditions which can make this type of cancer difficult to diagnose. As a result, the prognosis for the community of patients is poor, but many doctors can recommend treatment option like surgery, chemotherapy and radiation to help against the disease. Mesothelioma is quite difficult to “stage” than other cancers
