How to keep menstrual cramps at bay

Is it that time of the month again, whereby you are forced to endure those dreadful menstrual cramps?

Almost most every woman over the world knows that having menstrual cramps can be a terrible experience.

Menstrual cramps are a constant nagging and distracting pain that normally occurs in the lower abdomen .The trauma of periodic spasmodic pains at the beginning of menstrual period is sometimes unbearable and often forces many women to abandon their daily activities.

However, there are plenty of ways to help prevent or relieve menstrual pains

Drink black tea

Drink a cup of black tea and lie in a comfortable position. This will help to reduce menstrual symptoms.

Do not eat Sweets

Avoid eating sweets and chocolates, especially when you are experiencing menstrual cramps. Chocolates and sweets will make you feel bloated. The caffeine in the chocolate can make you nervous and aware of your physical discomfort.

Avoid drinking alcohol

It is very important for a woman to avoid drinking alcohol during the menstrual cycle. When you drink alcohol, your body collects more water and causes your menstrual cramps to grow more severe.

Avoid anger

Anger or extreme irritation can worsen your menstrual cramps. Try to engage yourself in many activities, if someone or something makes you angry.

Keep Warm

Bath yourself with hot water. This will help relax the muscles of the uterus and relieve the discomfort of menstrual cramps. Another alternative is to use hot water pads on stomach or lower back also helps a lot.

Exercise

Soft exercises like walking, jogging and yoga will help reduce muscle tension and increase blood circulation in the pelvic area.
