P.F. Chang’s is an Asian chain restaurant and the Houston has several of them. One of the locations is located in the Westchase area, at 11685 Westheimer. This restaurant is quite big inside and has a modern bistro flair to it; in fact slate, wood, metal and concrete are combined together with earth tones and a particular lighting effect that gives a contemporary effect, with a mix of Chinese history as it also has 12th century murals and replicas of terra cotta warriors. Their menu is quite vast, as it is divided by appetizers, soups and salad, traditional, chicken, meat, seafood, noodles and rice, vegetarian entrees and sides.
For appetizers you can choose the seared Ahi tuna for $9.00 which is tuna rolled in Chinese spices and served with spicy mustard, or the harvest spring rolls with vegetables and those are $3.50 for two. The other favorites are the crab wontons which are served with a spicy plum sauce for $7.00 and the dynamite shrimp for $10.00 and they are served in a martini glass, smoky and flavorful.
For their entrées on the chicken menu you have the Chang’s spicy chicken which is stir-fried in a Sichuan sauce for $13.00 or the classic Mu-shu chicken served with a hoisin sauce and served with thin pancakes for $11.50. Or you can order the exotic beef short ribs with pineapple rice for $15.00, or the sweet and sour pork which is pork stir-fried with pineapples, bell peppers and onions in a sweet and sour sauce for $12.00. If you crave seafood then you can order their Kung Pao scallops or shrimp which are quick fired with peanuts, chili peppers and scallions for $15.00, or even the hot fish which are crispy slices of their fresh daily selection in a Sichuan sauce and vegetables for $15.00.
