Confused About Sex? Why Are We?

Sexual orientation has become a very confusing issue in today’s world. Changing one’s sex is commonplace and homosexuality is widely accepted as normal. How did the lines between the sexes get so blurred and indistinguishable? And where does the truth lie in what is normal and acceptable to God?

That truth lies in nature and the word of God, The Bible.

In The Beginning

Corinthians 14:33 says “God is not the author of confusion, but of peace,as in all the churches of the saints.”  This passage tells us in essence, that God does not create confusion. An author usually creates or produces literary works. In this case the author creates human beings and his signature is his life force that he places in them.

When God created man(kind), he made them male and female in his own image and likeness (Genesis 1:27). He first made the male and after determining that it was not good for the male to be by himself, he later created the female using a rib from the man (Genesis 2:21-22). At the moment that God seperated the female from the male a distinction was made between the two beings. They were two unique individuals with similar assignments and different attributes and functions.

Differing Characteristics

In creating two different beings, God was declaring that although they had similarities, they also had differences that made them unique to each other. The male was the stronger of the two. He was given a protective nature which covered his entire family. He was also given a innate desire to provide for those in his family. Although many males have shurked this responsibility, it was not how God created the male to be.

The female was the softer and more sensitive of the two. She was to be the gentle nurturer of the children and the guardian of the home, making sure that all was well with her husband, the children and the home in general. The female was to be the glue that held everything together.

This is how God created the world and man but then everything changed after they disobeyed God and ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil (Genesis 3:1-7).

Life After The Fall

Before mankind disobeyed God life was easy. The man and the woman took care of the garden and lived a life of leisure. They even got along with willd animals like liions and tigers but after they transgressed against God’s command, all of that changed. Life became hard.

What was unknown to Adam and Eve (the first man and woman) was that there were curses associated with breaking God’s commandment. One of the curses was that the ground would become hard and difficult to cultivate. Labor which was easy before became more difficult. God declared that man would earn a living by “the sweat of his face.” (Genesis 3:17-19)  An additional curse was that child birth would be difficult and painful ( “in sorrow shall you bring forth children” Genesis 3:16)..

The final reprimand is that they were put out of the garden of liesure and luxury and cast out into a world of difficulty and pain.

The Injection of Sin and the Creation of Confusion

It wasn’t long before evil began to creep into the daily life of mankind. Their original transgression made them aware of  knowledge about things that were contrary to following after God. The first murder was committed in the first generation of mankind when Adam and Eve’s son Cain killed his brother Abel.

It was not long after that before sexual sin began to appear and that leads us to our present discussion.

As mentioned, when God created mankind he made them male and female. In doing so he made them unique but also co-dependent on each other. God gave them the command to be fruitful and multiply. This command could not be carried out without the cooperation of both the male and the female, which is what God intended.

Each one had a distinct and unique function in the reproduction process. The male provided the seed and the female provided the egg to be fertilized. She also was given the place that the baby was to be housed until birth. This process could not occur without contributions from both of them. It was impossible and that is exactly the way God intended it to be.

God created sex and he sanctioned sexual activity. There is no doubt about it but that activity was to be with one husband or wife. God created sex and he made it so it would be pleasurable but again that pleasure was to be enjoyed between a man and woman who were married and committed to each other.

God did not intend for mankind to have sex with multiple partners in a procession of sexual promiscuity. That lifestyle would produce confusion and we know that God is not the author of confusion. He also did not intend for members of the same sex to engage in sexual activity because that  goes against the very nature of mankind.

The Homosexual Issue

Over the last thirty years, since the late 1970’s, homosexuality has been promoted as an alternate lifestyle. Although it may be different from that of a heterosexual it can never be an alternate because the adoption of that lifestyle by all people would mean the extinction of mankind.

The basic definition of alternate is ” substitute” or “in place of.” If the heterosexual lifestyle was totally replaced by the homosexual lifestyle by every male and female and they all were strictly bound to only relating to their own gender it would spell the end of the human race.

The reproduction of mankind depends on the uniting of the female component with the male component to produce another human being. This is a scientific fact that has nothing to do with religion or spirituality. If the  homosexual lifestyle was truly an alternate lifestyle there would be no need to go outside of the bounds of that relationship to produce a child.

The command of God was to reproduce and populate the earth. It is impossible to carry out that command within the bounds of a homosexual relationship.

God did not approve or sanction the homosexual lifestyle. It violates nature itself and it keeps the participants from doing what God intended for males and females to do: reproduce.

Homosexuality is not an alternate lifestyle it is a confused lifestyle but the God who created the individuals who are living that way is not confused so why are they?

Steal, Kill and Destroy

In John 10:10 of the Bible Jesus said “the thief (Devil,Satan) cometh not but for to steal and to kill and to destroy, but i am come that you may have life and have it more abundantly.” This is the three-fold purpose of Satan. Many people don’t believe there is a Devil and that is exactly what he wants you to believe. It you don’t believe something exists you won’t prepare yourself to deal with it. Not believing he exists makes it easy for him to attack you and try to do to you what Jesus said in this scripture.

Living a homosexual lifestyle puts you in a position to have all three things in the above scripture happen to you.

  • it steals   from you the ability to have children in the natural way God intended
  • it destroys  your life by causing you to live in secrecy hiding your lifestyle from friends and family
  • it kills  millions of people every year with aids which started in the homosexual community in the 1980’s

Satan’s mission is to destroy mankind plain and simple. He is jealous of mankind’s position with God. When he was demoted, mankind was promoted to a position of being able to live with God through his plan of salvation.

From the beginning it was Satan’s goal to confuse the mind of man concerning what God wanted. In the garden of Eden Satan used this approach when he persuaded Adam and Eve to eat from the tree that God had told them not to eat from. When he confronted Eve he questioned her saying “has God not said that you could eat from every tree in the garden?”

Creating doubt and confusing the issue is one of the primary weapons that Satan uses to trick mankind in an effort to destroy him. And confusing the issue of sexual orientation is exactly what Satan has done causing many to be convinced that they have a natural attraction to members of their own gender, which is simply a lie from Satan.

The same type of lie he told in the garden of Eden when he told Eve it was okay to eat from the tree of knowledge. The only difference is, in this case the lie is “it’s okay to be homosexual.”

When God created mankind it was his intention for there to be a mixing and mating between the sexes any other arrangement is not a part of God’s plan.

This is the first installment in a multi-part series.
