Have you been invited to a barbeque and don’t know what to bring. How about some old classics like Jello, Ambrosia or Fruit Salad. These are favorites with young and old alike. They are very easy to make too.
16 oz. Cool Whip
2 jars maraschino, drained
2 cans pineapple chunks, drained
1/2 bag mini marshmallows
3 bannanas slices
4 oz. sour cream
2 cans mandarin oranges, drained
Combine sour cream and Cool whip and then fold in all other ingredients. Top with maraschino cherries. Chill for about 2 hours before serving.
Fruit Salad With A Twist
1 cup halved fresh strawberries
1/2 cup chilled club soda
1 cup white wine or white grape juice
1 (11 ounce) can mandarin oranges, drained
1 cup grapes
1 fresh pineapple, cut into chunks
In a large bowl combine the strawberries, oranges, grapes and pineapple. Combine club soda and wine or white grape juice. Pour over fruit. Chill 2 hours before serving.
Jello Fruit Salad
2 boxes vanilla tapioca pudding
1 can pineapple
1 box orange jello
2 cans mandarin oranges
1 container Cool Whip
3 cups fruit juice (you can use the juice from the canned fruit)
Drain fruit juice, add fruit juice to make three (3) cups. Cook liquid with pudding just to boil. Add orange Jello. When cool add orange Jello. Let cool and then add mandarin oranges and pineapple. Mix in Cool Whip. Chill and then serve.
You can add any fruit that you like to the above recipies. Be creative and add nuts too. If you have kids let them help these are very fun and easy recipies for kids. Enjoy!
