Walmart has great prices on many items in their electronics department. Usually, I have no problem with their customer service in that department since they usually already know what I want. However, since I do not live close to Walmart (we have some in area), often I will call one of them first to see if they have in stock what I want. But if you do not know what they want or need to ask a question, can be a pretty bad experience.
Since I have dial-up Internet at home, I had to buy an Ethernet cable to take me on a trip. When I called to see if Walmart had in stock in the length I wanted, I had to describe what seemed to the lady. How could someone who works in electronics do not know what an Ethernet cable?
Another time I called to see if they had wanted to stock the brand of DVD + R. The lady had no idea what he was talking about and she recommended me to call back during the day. I had Walmart associates suggest this to me before and makes me angry. Not only is the day associated jobs to help me. Finally got his point and proved that they did not have the brand I wanted.
A few months ago, I wanted to buy the cable I needed to play my mp3 player on my stereo. My stereo has two outlets for it, but I did not know the name of the necessary cable because the instructions say not to. Walmart is the kind of convinced he knew what was needed. I realize that Walmart does not pay much, so it is difficult to recruit and retain employees who have knowledge of electronics. But I wonder if they even try or if you just hire people to run the records in that department. And do not even that good. About every three times you pay for anything in electronics, I set off the alarm and leave the store because the label is not deactivated.
