Are you always struggling to find ways to save money throughout the year to put back for your Christmas budget? In this economy, it can be hard enough to save money anyway, but here are a few tips that have really save money for my Christmas budget and with a little discipline, you can do it to.
1- Grab a notebook and a pen. Ever heard of recycables? Most places will pay you for recycable materials: Aluminum cans, copper, stainless steel, scrap iorn just laying around your yard. What I do is I start collecting these materials starting in janurary, and by september you would be suprised at the amount of recycables that you have collected. I generally get around $300-$500 when I take my recycables in each year. You can take these recycable materials to any recycable or scrap plant that pays for these materials. You can find them in your local phone book. When it comes to scrap iorn, like: Scrap steel.junk iorn, you can make more money, because the heavier it is, the more money they pay you.
2- Pocket change- Starting in janurary, if I go into the store and purchase a 25 cent pack of gum, I give the clerk a $1.00 bill, this in return getting 75 cents back and I do this on most of the items I purchase so I can get the change back. At the end of the day I put my change in my change bucket in my closet. After doing this day after day for about 8 months, you would be shocked at the amount of change you have accumulated. I have counted out over 1,400 dollars in change by doing this method.
Remember when it comes to saving money or making a christmas budget, it takes discipline. Once you get into a habit of doing it, it almost comes natural after a while and your reward will be worth the while.
