How to Command Search Engines to Index Your Website

I have been doing websites for more than 10 years now. This handy little tidbit was used by my website design mentor. She charged upwards of $450 just to insert this tiny piece of code into the websites that she designed. The coding may not be much but the power it packs is priceless. Use it for yourself and see what it can do for your page rankings.

You do not need to pay someone to submit your website to all the various search engines every month to ensure those good rankings. All you need to do is insert this script and submit your site ONE time. The script will command the search engine spiders to index your website on schedule, every time.

  1. Open your index.html page in your HTML editor.
  2. Insert this code between the and tags of your html document:  $meta name=”revisit-after” content=”30 days”$ There should be other meta tags and you can insert it right in line with those.
  3. Replace the $ signs with brackets found just above the comma and period symbols on your keyboard to enclose the coding. (sorry, Bukisa does not allow those brackets to show when typed here.)
  4. Save and upload using your FTP program.

You can alter the number of days in the content=”XX days” section but 30 days is strongly advised for the maximum SEO effect. More or less days is just not favored by Google as much as 30 days.

The longer you are using this script, the more effective it will become. This is due to the fact that the more regularly you are indexed, the more search engines take favor with you. Same thing goes with age. Search engines seem to view webpages like wines. They just get sweeter with age.

I will try and add even more secrets to getting your websites to rank higher within the search engines so keep checking back. If you have specific requests, feel free to leave me a comment and ask.
