Brock Lesnar vs Fedor Emelianenko

Unless you have been unaware of the sport then you probably know that former WWE wrestler Brock Lesnar has jumped to mma and become the UFC heavyweight champion in recent years. You may not know that Fedor Emelianenko has remained undefeated for practically his whole career and has beaten a wide array of opponents including numerous former UFC champions. So who would win a matchup between Brock Lesnar vs Fedor Emelianenko.

It seems a bit silly in my opinion to even consider this matchup right now but we will look at all the tangibles all the same. Brock Lesnar is only 3-1 right now at this point in his career but he has shown that he has a very powerful punch putting Frank Mir, Heath Herring and Randy Couture all on the ground with big punches. Another thing that is certain is that the big guy has world class wrestling ability and at 285-290 pounds the size to really make outwrestling him nearly impossible for most guys in mma. The biggest chink in his armor has been his submissions on the ground where Frank Mir caught and beat him at UFC 81.

When you look at the career of Fedor Emelianenko you see that he has wins by knockout, submission and decisions so he can win no matter where or how the fight takes place. The biggest thing here is that the Russian is very good on the ground and has numerous submission wins throughout his career. If the fight goes to the ground then the odds shift heavily to favor the WAMMA heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko.

Perhaps we will see what happens in the future to get a Fedor Emelianenko vs Brock Lesnar fight in the UFC. I doubt it though and first things first Brock Lesnar needs to keep from going 0-2 against Frank Mir when they fight at UFC 100 in July.
