Below mentioned are few home remedies, that can be found in our kitchen for some common diseases/health disorders.
1.Laryngitis: Add one table spoon salt and one table spoon turmeric powder to a glass of warm water and gargle three to four times a day.
2.Upper respiratory tract infection: Boil a glass of milk with one tablespoon turmeric powder, add a pinch of black pepper powder and have it two to three times a day.
3.Chest congestion: Burn a piece of turmeric over a candle and inhale the fumes. Alternatively, add eight to ten basil leaves and one tablespoon turmeric powder to a bowl of water. Boil it and inhale the steam.
4.Skin abscess: Make a hot poultice with turmeric powder and apply it on the site of infection four to five times a day.
5.Muscle sprain: Wrap ice cubes in a thin plastic sheet and apply it at the site of pain three to four times a day.
6.Head ache/body ache: Make a tea with a eight inch long lemon grass cut into pieces, basil leaves, one inch of fresh ginger, a pinch of black pepper powder and sip it two to three times a day.
7.Heartburn/Acidity:Make a paste of one inch of fresh ginger, add juice of one fresh lemon and have it with half teaspoon of cumin seeds and half teaspoon of caraway seeds.
8.Upset Stomach: Have two to three cups of yoghurt a day.
9.Nausea: Chop one inch of fresh ginger into small pieces, add juice of 1 fresh lemon and chew it.
10.Toothache: Chew three to four cloves, make a paste and with the help of your tongue place it at the site of pain.
11.Cracked soles: Mix turmeric powder with castor oil and apply it at the site of cracked soles on your feet.
12.Corns and Callouses: Cut a thin slice of pine apple and apply it on the corn/callouses and tie it up with some bandage to retain it at the site. Keep it for one day and then change it.
13.Varicose Veins: Apply apple cider vinegar on the varicose veins two to three times a day. Taking alternate hot and cold bath also provides relief.
14.Minor skin cut/Bruish/Scald/Burn: Apply honey or paste of turmeric over the wound.
15.Burning Urination: Eat ten to twelve blue berries in a day and drink plenty of water. Drinking barley water also helps.
16.Dandruff:Add juice of 1 fresh lemon to one teaspoon of apple cider vinegar. Add a pinch of salt to it and massage your scalp with the mixture.
