Hypnosis is not magic. It is something anyone can learn and it has many benefits. It can be used to solve many psychological and emotional problems. It can also be used for one’s own personal development by building one’s confidence and self esteem.
The first thing you have to know is that you have both a conscious and a subconscious mind. You conscious mind is the mind you are thinking with right now, Can you focus on your thoughts right now? That is your conscious mind. It’s the voice that keeps chattering.
The subconscious mind is the deeper part of your mind. It is where all thoughts come from. Your beliefs about yourself, other people, and life in general are embedded deeply in your subconscious mind.
It is very difficult to access your subconscious mind in your normal state.That is because your conscious mind is in the way. This is where hypnosis comes in. Hypnosis helps you enter a very deep relaxed state. Your thoughts become calm. So calm as if they have almost stop. When the conscious mind quiets down, the subconscious becomes more accessible to the hypnotist.
What the hypnotist does then is that he or she will then speak messeges to your subconconscious mind. The subconscious will believe these messeges. It believes everything because it does not criticise anything. That is the job of the conscious mind, which is asleep during the hypnotic state.
After the session is over, the person that was hypnotized will wake up with the new messeges implanted in his or her subconscious mind. If the messege is a positive one; and it should be; then it will have a positive effect on this person’s thoughts and behavour.
This of course, might require more than one session .Some of the beliefs in the subconscious have been there since childhood and it is difficult to change them in one session.
