If you have always wanted to get into the medical field doing fun things like peels, microdermabrasion, and pre and post operative skin care you need to do some basic research. Make a list of beauty schools in your area. Do a little research on each school and find out pricing and course availability.Talk to current students and get some referrals. You are only going to be as good as your training so make sure you attend a highly respected school in your area. Some courses can take as little as 3 months however, you are going to get the basic training and hopefully your license with your state. Next you want to take as many advanced courses as you can. These include courses on laser, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, sclerotherapy and even Botox, Dysport, and dermal fillers so you know all of the latest procedures. These courses usually provide you with certificates.Next you want to start building your professional resume and you want to include all of your training and knowledge especially in the advanced training that you have taken.Lastly, you want to start researching all spas, physician offices, and medical spas for possible positions. Even if they are not currently hiring send them your resume if you can. Look for some place that you can at least get your foot in the door, gain some experience, and build your skills. You need to have drive and a desire to learn to be successful in the field.
