How to network with people and find more work

Networking with people is important. It helps you when you need a better job or just to get a job in the first place. You have someone to ask questions if you’re new to the industry if you don’t know what you’re doing. You don’t always know everything and an experienced person would be a great consultant. There’s nothing more valuable then someone teaching you the rope. Whenever you begin a new job, you can always use the help of an experienced person. They can give you a review about a company or the work condition that you can’t read somewhere else. It’s more truthful coming from a real person than an article somewhere on the internet. This is why you should make as much friends as possible and don’t lose your friends. You should keep them in your life and turn to them for help when you need it.

It’s about networking in this kind of world. If you don’t know people, you would have to start from the bottom up, even if you’re intelligent or experienced. People don’t really give you a boost unless you know them personally. This is unfair but life’s not fair sometimes. It would be nice if everything in life is fair and ethical but that’s not the way it goes in some places. For example, if you want to be a hot star in Hollywood, you would have to know a lot of powerful executive producers. If you don’t know them, you will have a hard time landing a high paying role or an important role. They take in their friends or family first.

It’s hard to accept the fact that there’s some favoritism going on in Hollywood, but that’s the nature of the film industry. This is the same in Las Vegas. People get to do better jobs if they know a manager in a casino. A person with plenty of experiences and education could be without a job because they don’t have a good connection in the industry. There’re also other industries that are first come first serve. These are straightforward industries and anyone can become an executive. I noticed that a lot of executives are friends with the company’s owner. Business owners hire their friends first. If you know a lot of owners, you will have a better chance of landing a decent job. This is why it’s important to start networking and keeping your network alive.
