According to Ancient Chinese Medicine, there are energy pathways in our bodies. These energy pathways are called meridians. When the energy, referred to as Chi, is flowing freely, we are healthy. When there is a disruption to the normal flow of energy, we manifest physical symptoms. Ancient Chinese Medicine practitioners or as we hear them more often referred to as Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners, focus on the causes of disease and dysfunction in the body rather than only working on alleviating the symptoms. When the energy flow improves, physical symptoms also improve.

Energy Healing has been the philosophy of all ancient healing techniques. The body can only live in harmony when treated as a whole. It makes very little sense to only treat the symptoms as they will only appear over and over. We have to realize what is giving us pain or making us sick. Sometimes that is a long journey of discovery. But when we get to that point where we understand it, we are more likely to accept a life-style change.

There are several healing methods that focuses on returning full harmony to the body. One of them that I am personally very fond of and where I have seen great results is Jin Shin Jyutsu. The reason why I would mention this healing method first is for the fact that I have personally witnessed amazing results with it. This prompted me to study this very ancient art even further to help my family and friends whenever they needed help, physically or emotionally. In the meantime Jin Shin Jyutsu has become my focus, being able to help many people and even teach them self-help. Jin Shin Jyutsu has its roots in Traditional Chinese Medicine. A lot of it was based on the teachings of acupressure and acupuncture. Another form of energy healing would be a very old healing method from Japan, called Reiki. Even Traditional Thai Massage involves energy healing. Another massage technique which is based on Native American Healing that includes some energy work is LaStone Therapy.
