The eyes contain many small muscles, and there isn’t any no doubt that eye exercises can do small harm to your eyes, but can they able to really be of benefit?
A NY ophthalmologist called Dr William Bates, developed a chain of eye strenghtening exercises to improve eyesight without resorting to lenses or surgery. Dr Bates felt that many eye issues had their root causes in stress, tension and laziness of the eye and he suspected that due to these causes, the eyes could be treated without correction like lenses, spectacles or maybe surgery. Dr Bates’ techniques were first invented at the start of the 20th century, but many people still practice them today.
Dr Bates felt that the eyes might be re-trained to chill and improve the linkage between the optic nerves and the brain – and thus improve vision.
Dr Bates’ concepts have been largely ignored by the world of medicine. However, many folk around the world have claimed remarkable improvements in short sight, long sight, astigmatism, squints and lazy eyes using these methods.
To boil it down, you can expect to implement some straightforward eye exercises for about half hour a day.
Shut your eyes and close them with your cupped palms to block out light, eluding pressure on the sockets. Breathe unhurriedly and uniformly, relaxing and envisioning deep blackness. Begin by implementing this for 10 minutes, two or three times a day.
Relax and keep the eyes fluid. Reiterate a hundred times daily, blinking as you swing. Blinking cleans and lubricates the eyes, which is especially important if you use up lots of time in front of a computer.
You may be recommend to enjoy a ‘colour day.’ Choose a colour for it during the day. When you see it, be conscious of the color instead of the form. For example, if it’s a red wagon, experience the shade of red, not the truck.
