In Revelation 22:15 it says, “Outside are the dogs, the sorcerers, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices lying.” These dogs are deceiving ready to devour the weak. I know it’s hard being a Christian because it contradicts the flesh, but we will reap a harvest if we do not give up! Here are a few dog-watches you might want to take heed. I call it “DOGVICE”
A DOG WILL ATTACK YOU IF IT SENSES FEAR
Dogs are even better than we are at reading a person’s reaction to them. If you show fear to a dog, it will certainly bark aggressively at you and in some cases attack you. So be it with humans, If there is a bully at school or work and they sense your fear them then they will continue to pester you. They won’t let up, these haters will take advantage of any opportunity to control somebody. It may be the flesh, but humans try to claim dominion over others through intimidation and manipulation.
If this is the case for you, show you don’t fear them by using the word of God. It may seem crazy but tell them that God loves them and humbly tell them you will pray for them. It is very important that you tell them that you are not afraid. In the extreme cases you need a dog catcher for the rabid dogs whom are harassing you or abusing you. In these cases seek higher authorities. If it is in school, DO NOT take matters in your own hands. As tempting as it sounds, you must tell a teacher, administrator, parents or police officer to take care of the problem
DOGS TRAVEL IN PACKS
When a hater is barker derogative things towards you it’s rarely done alone. In the bible, Psalm 22:16, it says “For dogs have surrounded me; a gang of evildoers has closed in on me; they pierced my hands and my feet.” They will bark and bark, talk and talk with their friends along side them. They will surround you to intimidate you. Know where you are with the Lord. In a school setting, if you ever catch them alone, calmly and humbly ask them for a few moments of their time and approach them like a mature adult. This divide and conquer method works. All you have to ask is if there is a problem, to collaborate and fix it. Explain that you don’t want beef, and your position with God. Tell them that they are forgiven and move on. Now of course, not in all situations this will work, but if it doesn’t, you’ve done what you can and that should show the character of your oppressor. Be the bigger person by being the smaller person!
IF YOU CORNER A DOG WHEN IT IS WOUNDED IT WILL ATTACK
This calls to be a little wise and compassionate towards those who are hurting. Often times when our loved ones are crying or hurting we immediately want to help. Just like if we see a dog hurting we want to help, but the dog is reactant on instinct and will bite you if you push too much. Same in humans, we tend to ask over and over “are you okay” and call and try within our power to help but in result get cursed at or physically attacked. The injured in body or spirit need time to heal, especially from something devastating like a break up or death of a loved one. Be mindful of the situation and try not to push too much or you may get an unpleasant response.
IF YOU LAY DOWN WITH A DOG YOU MIGHT GET FLEAS
Ladies and Gentlemen in the dating realm, as you know dogs carry fleas. If you lay with them, you are putting yourself at risk of getting what the dog has. So my dating colleagues, if you sleep with a player (Male or Female) you put yourself at risk in catching a sexually transmitted disease (STD). Watch for signs of infidelity, and abstinence is always the best policy.
A DOG NEVER BARKS AND BITES AT THE SAME TIME
If a dark is barking, 97% of the time that is all it will do is bark. It can get louder, and even more intense at time. There has been no recorded instance where a dog barks and biting at the same time. Have you ever heard the term “all bark, no bite?” People who just talk trash to you all the time, every time they see…in most cases that is all they will do. If someone threatens to fight you and haven’t done it yet, ugh, chances are they aren’t going to doing. They need a reason to which is for you to bark back. A dog will start biting as soon as the receiver gives it the attention it needs to bite. Competition! If you ignore a dog, it will just bark, eventually get bored and find other interests to entertain it. So make sure you are passive. Like said before in extreme cases seek higher authority to address the situation. Rabid dogs end up in the pound (jail, high point), don’t become one of them. You don’t want to keep doing the same thing over and over again. Proverbs 26:11 says “As a dog returns to his vomit, so a fool repeats his foolishness.”
A DOG NEVER BARKS AT PARKED CARS, ONLY AT CARS THAT ARE GOING SOMEWHERE
As you know dogs will not bark at parked cars for the simple fact that it is not a threat. People will not curse you if you are where they are. But dogs chase moving cars because they are going somewhere. When you began to succeed and move places beyond the hater it will chase you down and bark and bark and bark until you stop and be where the dog is. It is not in God’s plan for you to stay where you are currently. You must succeed. It’s destined! It’s in God’s plan. In your journey, you may run into a risk of being stalked, chased and barked at. Your duty is not to let anyone stop you in your tracks, no matter how vicious.
A DOG MARKS IT’S TERRITORY BY USING ITS SCENTS
When dogs look to mark their territory, they will sniff the object for another dog’s scent. If the dog picks up another dogs scent it will move on to claim other property but if there’s no scent then the dog will urinate on the object claiming it as their property. Often times in relationships, people will claim ownership to another person. NEWSFLASH: You are nobody’s property, you belong to God. You must make these people know what scent you have on you by placing on the armor of God. Remember dog spelled backwards is God. Once a dog senses that you are owned by God it will move on to the next person to claim, so you must maintain a consistent life of Christ to fend of these bodily realtors. The bible says in Matthew 7:6, “Don’t give what is holy to dogs or toss your pearls before pigs, or they will trample them with their feet, turn, and tear you to pieces.” If you are in the scenario of being “owned” by a dog, pray your way out of it and let go of the leash. Pray the prayer in Psalms 22:20, “Deliver my life from the sword, my very life from the power of the dog.” To deliver your life from this sword, you must lean on Jesus and fight back with the sword of the spirit which is the word of God. So far with this weapon, everyone who has used it is undefeated.
Beware of Dogs. The bible says in Philippians 3:2, Watch out for “dogs,” watch out for evil workers, watch out for those who mutilate the flesh. Beware because they are out to tear you to pieces. One thing they can not touch is your spirit, so be led by the Holy Spirit in situations dealing with dogs of this world.
